Capturing color, nature, and the surreal.

Summary

There was not a time in my life that a pencil was not in my hand, and I was making something. Art, for me, was always there as a reprieve from life, as I always felt disconnected from those around me. While I struggled with forming meaningful connections, I adored wandering through the trees, or looking inward at my often vivid dreams, and created works inspired off of what I would see. I eventually would receive my BFA at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, causing a newfound love for forms of art such as comics, zines, and risograph printmaking, which offered a form of grit that complimented my surreal, colorful and bold work. Chicago also taught me how to connect with people on a deeper level, showing me the importance of art in everyone’s life. With these new and old inspirations, as well as a variety of mediums, I continue to create pieces and characters that range from undeniably strange paintings and prints, to the more down-to-earth scientific illustrations that give appreciation to my experiences that I’m continually driven by.
