Hole in the Wall

Photos depicting some of the process of making my short form comic "Hole in the Wall". The story follows our silhouetted protagonist running from a monster, who then stumbles into a strange store, where they learn is only accessed via their dreams. This book is currently being sold at Quimby's in Chicago. This book was drawn in Procreate, touched up in photoshop, and printed in Risography. Risography is a method of printmaking that requires the ink drum within the machine to be changed per color. It is a very hands on method that requires lots of attention to registration, and fine tuning to get the colors and textures to the way that is preferred. It is a method that has gained a lot of traction with artists for its more "tactile" look and feel to the print quality, and each print almost has its own distinct feel to it. Since the ink never fully dries to a point, I opted to laminate the covers to help prevent smudging.

First couple pages printed on tabloid sheets, to eventually be cut down into pages. Each color you see meant another time the pages had to be run through the machine.
